Steve hosted Miss Newcastle in May 2009 in conjunction with Lesley Lister; Tyne Tees Models, Denise Dobson Cudmore; Dandy Events and Angie Taylor; Charlie Bear.

With 20 of Newcastle's most beautiful girls battling for the crown, and entry to the Miss England semi final, it was a memorable night.

The theme was burlesque and as well as celebrity judges, there was some fantastic entertainment from X Factor's "Desire".

As well as a great evening, lots of money was raised for Charlie Bear, the Children's cancer charity originally based at Newcastle General hospital (Where Steve was born!). It is now based at the Freeman Hospital.
