Steve hosted the Excelsior Awards at Newcastle Civic Centre in 2011. Excelsior is a business enterprise academy. It encompasses;

Guest speaker was Katy Storie, who was inspirational. Katy made her England debut against South Africa at the 2006 Rugby World Cup in Canada. Since then she has become a regular in the England squad and is one of several talented props. Katy was also in the Great Britain weight lifting squad before taking up rugby.
