Liverpool
Blitz 70 was a whole city event staged during
the bank holiday weekend Saturday 30th April
to Monday 2nd May. It marked the 70th anniversary
of the May Blitz of 1941.
Whilst
giving proper respect to those who lost their
lives during the bomb raids of the Second World
War, the event was intended to be a celebration
of the spirit of the Blitz and indeed, the spirit
of Liverpool! £8562.00 was raised through
street collections, all funds raised go to supporting
British war veterans via two charities: D-Day
Revisited and the Royal British Legion.

It
was a fantastic sight to see those who survived the
terror of the Blitz marching alongside military veterans
young and old from the region.

"Hi
Steve, We were all in agreement last night that
the event simply wouldn't have worked without
you. You were very professional and exceedingly
adaptable to ever changing circumstances. Your
commentary during the wreath laying was appropriately
very respectful and at the same time you were
able to inject energy and enthusiasm into the
crowd whenever necessary. We really appreciate
you contribution, and want to say a great big
thank you!"
