Aladdin - Whitley Bay Playhouse 2011 / 2012
Steve was delighted to be asked to return to the Playhouse, Whitley Bay in 2011 / 2012. After the success of playing "Muddles" in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the previous year, Steve was asked to play "Wishee Washee" in Aladdin. He once again teamed up with producer Gary Telfer of Blue Genie Entertainment, and director / "Abanazer" Simon Barnard ("Herman the Henchman" in Snow White) |

"Those looking for a traditional pantomime will not be disappointed. Steve Walls (Wishee Washee) returns to Whitley Bay for the second year and with panto old-timer Paul Harris (Widow Twankey) makes light work of light entertainment. A smattering of borderline jokes keep the adults entertained, but Walls ensures the show is all about the children."

"Back by popular demand is ‘Top North East Comic’ Steve Walls. You may remember Steve from the Sunderland Empire pantos, and although it’s unusual to see him go from such a large venue to a considerably smaller one, Walls is more than comfortable as Wishee Washee, Window Twankey’s idle son. Commanding the audience of excitable children (me included) he formed the perfect double act with Paul Harris’ dame."

"Central to the performance – and providing most of the laughs and audience participation – are North East comic Steve Walls and BBC Radio’s Paul Harris as Wishee Washee and Widow Twankey respectively. Walls, in particular, is the central figure who holds the show so impressively together. You might have heard some of the jokes – for instance, my phone only works in a church, I’m on pray as you go – before but they are delivered with such timing and enthusiasm that they keep the crowd smiling."

"Walls's billing as the north east's No 1 comic might seem an overambitious claim - and one that fans of the likes of expatriate northerners Ross Noble or Sarah Millican might well dispute - but he is certainly an accomplished showman and makes a cracking job of his role. Most of the other laughs, for children and and adults, were yielded by Walls's slickly-delivered patter"

"For the second year in succession, local lad Steve Walls returns to the Playhouse panto in the role of principal comic. Having excelled as Muddles in last year’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this year he takes the role of Wishee Washee and ups his game yet again. It is with total expertise that he establishes a rapport with the children in the audience, who are all thrilled to be part of his ‘gang’, yet his near-the-knuckle gags (which go straight over the kids’ heads) make him a firm favourite with the adults, too. Only a comic of the highest calibre is capable of achieving such a feat."
